Want to learn to sew? It’s such a fun and versatile skill, and we can’t wait to get you started on your first projects!
We offer a welcoming and supportive space for complete beginners.
In this 3 week course, you’ll be taught everything you need to know, from winding your bobbins to creating fantastic projects.
This course runs for 3 consecutive weeks for 2.5 hours per class.
What to expect each week…
Week 1:
Introduction to sewing. You’ll be taught the basics such as navigating your machine, winding bobbins, threading your machines and straight stitching.
You’ll then be taught how to cut your first pattern pieces and sew a Tote Bag - the perfect first project.
Week 2:
You’ll learn how to create a beautiful cushion, finished with a back zipper and hand made piping!
Week 3:
Upcycle a shirt! You’ll be taught how to turn an old, oversized shirt into a fashionable piece of day wear. You’ll be taught how to hem, create ruffles and insert back ties.
Things to note:
•You must bring your own machine, equipment and fabrics
•You will be sent an equipment/ fabric list before the course start date along with recommended links/local haberdashery’s
•This course runs for 3 consecutive weeks. You must be able to attend all 3 classes.
